2008 Honda Civic LX

Up for bid is a 2008 Honda civic.

PROS:

1. Engine runs well no unusual noises. Car runs well starts every time. I would drive it anywhere.

2. Manual transmission shifts well shifts in all gears with no grinding.

3.  I have 2 keys for it.

4. All power windows work

5. All electronics work climate control, wipers, radio etc

6.  Interior is in good condition considering the age and mileage of the car.

7.  Original owners manual included

8. I have a set of winter tires that I bought for it last year. I will also include all season tires that I bought for it last year as well.

9. No check engine light is on and it passed emissions this year. Next emissions is due October 2027 if you live around Chicago land region.

10. All lights work, I replaced the manual trans fluid, coolant, and brake fluid last year. I also replaced the spark plugs and if I recall correctly the ignition coils. All this was done as preventive maintenance.

11. I have a clean title on hand.

CONS:

I suspect it has an exhaust leak close to the front. Doesn’t affect the way it runs but you can hear it.

Cracked passenger side mirror

Rust on wheel well rear driver I spray rust reformer on it every few months to control it.

Dent in front passenger fender.

Some paint fading in areas from clear coat peeling off

TPMS tire pressure light is on probably needs sensors

When I bought the car the air conditioning was not working

Air conditioning needed a recharge last year and now it appears it needs it again so there is a leak somewhere

Small power steering leak at every oil change I add a little bit of Honda power steering fluid to top it off

My overall assessment:

  This was my winter beater. With the snow tires it ran great in the winter. It started at any temperature, and the car never broke down. I kept up to date on the maintenance (oil changes , filter, brake fluid, etc). I am only selling it because I purchased a newer Honda winter beater.  I am sure there are more minor pros and cons that what I mentioned but this is what I can remember off the top of my head after a quick visual inspection prior to writing this description.
