1950 Ford Sedan | Flathead V8 | 3-on-the-Tree | Borg-Warner Overdrive

If you've been looking for an old Ford you can actually drive and enjoy without starting with a full restoration, this might be the one.

1950 Ford 4-door sedan with the classic flathead V8, column-shift 3-speed and Borg-Warner overdrive. Starts easily, runs smoothly and drives well. Good-looking paint that's above-average driver quality, nice interior with no rips or tears, and what appear to be newer tires.

This isn't a $30,000-$40,000 show car and I'm not pretending it is. It's a good-looking driver with some smaller projects that give you something to tinker with without tearing the whole car apart.

The car retains its original-style 6-volt electrical setup. I tracked down a parasitic battery drain and disconnected the ammeter circuit. Since then, I've had no further battery-drain issue. It also has a newer battery and voltage regulator.

Things still needing attention include several dash knobs, cracked steering wheel, non-working clock, radio that powers up but doesn't receive stations, and some rear-door handle/window-crank hardware. The front brakes previously pulled right; I adjusted them and they're much better, although they may benefit from some additional fine-tuning.

I bought the car this spring because the flathead and three-on-the-tree brought back some great memories. Reality eventually set in: I have too many cars and too many projects.

I'm selling it for what I have invested in the purchase price and registration taxes. I'm not adding the money I've put into it.
