1969 Mustang Convertible project car. Many New+OEM parts included.
Photos are lacking currently, I know. eBay is offering free auto listing this month, and I'm taking advantage ASAP. Looking for anyone who is interested in something like this.
My father passed away recently, this is something he never got around to. I don't have much together yet. I'll be working on adding more in the meantime. If I know someone is interested, I will be more motivated to dig through and sort/index a lot of parts!
I know it looks rough here, just dirt and dust. There isn't any body damage. It's packed in the garage, I haven't moved it out yet or cleaned for better photos.
He had the body panels put together and aligned. Anything that was wore out (floor pans, rockers etc.) were replaced by a professional.
The car is straight, structurally solid. The motor/drivetrain is all together, it starts, runs, moves.
He bought most everything you would need to restore to new. Lots of brand new parts in boxes, interior and exterior, and some OEM parts too. I don't currently have a list or pictures of absolutely everything, but will be working on that. There are a few parts inside but most I will have to remove from storage. Most everything you would need to make the car complete is included. Before you buy, I will have pictures and as much description as possible. There are a lot of parts! Again, almost everything you could need (especially the expensive things) like new (black) interior and trim is included. I know it's these details that matter.
Originally Black Jade (awesome color), although needs painting. If you wanted to keep it close to original, that's good to know. More pictures in better light would do more justice. Nothing rotting away. The engine is strong, but would need cleaning too. It starts and runs great (though the gas tank isn't installed). The body looks rough in the photos, but there are no dents in any of the sheet metal. It does look worse than it is with what little I did to prepare. The body panels look mismatched but the doors and fenders are real 1969 mustang! A lot of the car will be authentic.
It doesn't look like much from the photos right now. But there are all brand new parts to be included. It's important that foundation of the car is strong. You could buy one with rotted floor pans and rockers that have bondo...that would be a nightmare for you. Many others probably don't even have real Ford body panels. It would be hard to tell with everything installed. The most important part for a mustang build is here. It's hard to find it this close to being done, but still being able to do it yourself. All you need is a good painter and to install the parts.
He has had other mustangs too, this wasn't the first. He knew what he was doing when he was buying the stuff. He was a mechanic and even worked at the Ford assembly plant. If this wasn't a good car, with solid drivetrain, he wouldn't have bothered starting on it in the first place.
I know there are missing details a buyer would like to know. I know a bit, but will have to verify for myself too. Looks like there's power-steering, for example.
I need time to sort all the parts and picture. A lot of the value is in the parts I haven't yet pictured, and the important structural photos. Sorry there isn't enough information to make a decision yet. If it's something you are looking for, ask me and I will answer questions + provide any new info ASAP. This isn't something you need to buy this week. Just get in touch with your questions so we can figure out the details.
