DESCRIPTION:

Here is a rare opportunity to own a true piece of Hot Rod history as one of the first Pro Street builds to set the trend starting in the 1980’s. This 1989 Chevrolet Beretta was built by Rich and Jacklyn Gebhardt in 1988. The car was originally built to be a Reher – Morrison Pro Stock race car, but due to a wheelbase measurement being too long, NHRA would not allow the car to run. That’s when the Gebhardt’s purchased the Beretta. Rich originally had it powered by a V6 with a 4-speed Lenco transmission. It now boasts a 572 cu. in. all aluminum supercharged big block Chevy putting out about 1010 rwhp!! The owner history is believed to be 7 and it ranged from being a Pro Street to a bracket racer and then finally back on the street.

This Beretta is fully street legal with a clear title and VIN number. The current build has less than 50 miles on it.

The bodywork and candy tangerine urethane paint are 30+ years old. It does show some age, but for show purposes it looks fantastic. The roof and rear quarter panel sections are steel. Everything else is fiberglass. All the windows are glass and in excellent condition. The passenger and driver’s windows are power operated. Since it is street legal all lights, turn signals, and brake lights function. The fiberglass front-end, hood, and trunk lid are held on with ‘Zeus’ fasteners. The doors can easily be removed from their hinges.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Engine:  572 CI aluminum tall deck Dart block with Brodix BB3 aluminum heads ported by Steve Sanchez of Total Flow Productions. T&D shaft rockers, JE Thermo Coated 9.5 to1 Pistons, Molnar Crankshaft, Oliver steel rods, whole motor has ARP bolts, Stefs custom aluminum oil pan w/ Hi-Volume oil pump, Jesel Belt drive, Bullet Custom Solid Roller Camshaft (785 intake and 775 exhaust lift/ 280/294 duration @ .050, 115 Lobe separation) Have Cam Card , Hogans Sheet Metal Intake w/EFI injector bosses w/ polished #10 fuel rails w/ 160# Injectors. BDS Billet Stage 3 Teflon Stripped blower w/ Enderle Big and ugly 5" Blade hat w/ Progressive linkage. JoeBlo injector box with 110# injectors, rubber lines into 15# Nozzles in hat. 2 3/8" stainless headers w/ 4.5" Stainless exhaust w/ Borla X-R1 Stainless mufflers. Custom 5" oval tips. Pulleys are 3% Overdriven making 12# of boost. On a tight chassis dyno, it made 1,010 HP to the rear wheels. 

Fuel System: 2 Magna fuel pumps w/ 13 gallon cell running on E-85. One pump is for street driving (750 EFI Star Pump) other pump turns on at 25% TPS and is a 750 MagnaFuel Pro Star Gear Pump. 2 Fuel filters, 100 Micron at pump and 100 Micron before injectors up front. 12AN line to pumps, 10AN to Injectors and #8 as return.

EFI : Fuel Tech 550 ECU with Fuel Tech Coil Packs (mounted on firewall).  Innovator West Crank trigger wheel and inducer, MSD Crank Sensor distributor, Fuel Tech dash displays, Voltage, oil pressure, water temp, O2 Correction, Fuel Pressure, Fuel Level, RPM , TPS and Speedometer( has Driveshaft sensor). You can alter the dash to your liking. Dual AFR "Nano's in custom dash holder

Cooling system: Brand new 3.5" thick aluminum "Triple Pass" Radiator with custom shroud and dual 14" Spal Fans. Sent Meziere 55Gal Hi-Volume water Pump back for a complete rebuild in March of this year. Has Meziere Overflow box / Fill all polished.  Newly rebuilt 120 AMP alternator from East Coast Alternator to keep up with all electronics.

Transmission: Powerglide w/ SFI Certified JW Ultra Bell and 4,600 rpm 10" Converter

Body & Frame:  Don Ness Double Frame Rail Chromoly Pro Stock chassis Certified to 6.0 cert (2,800#) 25.1 Certification,  Gebhart fabricated and installed Steel GM Roof, Quarters, doors and trunk mounted to chassis. Fiberglass removable nose and hood. All GM glass in car. Power driver and passenger door windows work. Removable doors (sitting on pin system). All lights work. Headlights, brake lights, turn signals, park lights and interior light. The dashboard houses just the necessary gauges such as boost, water temperature, and oil pressure. While the Fuel Tech screen mounted on the steering column provides the necessary feedback to monitor the engine. The water temperature gauge in the dash does not work, but the one on the Fuel Tech instrument panel does and is more accurate. You will also notice an Auto Meter gauge panel mounted in the engine compartment showing a tachometer, oil pressure, and water temperature.

Chassis: Don Ness Double Frame Rail Chromoly Pro Stock chassis Certified to 6.0 cert (2,800#) 25.1 Certification. Custom front-end using tubular ‘A’ arms with rack & pinion steering. Ultra braced 9" housing w/ Strange axles and 4.56 gears, spool  w/ aluminum center section. 4-Link suspension w/ wishbone and AFCO adjustable rear shocks Wildwood disc brakes w/ new pads.
