2014 RAM Class B Campervan – Promaster 2500 159′ Wheelbase Gas Engine

Howdy. This build needs a good bit of maintenance. I built this van during COVID, and it has been in storage in Los Angeles since 2022. The solar system has been well-maintained, but the van itself needs a good amount of work. The vehicle is sold as-is.

Current issues are listed first, so you know what you’re getting into before reading too far down. If you want something to move into and go, this is not it. If you don’t mind taking the time and money to fix this up, you won’t be able to find a better deal. 

Despite having a rebuilt transmission installed less than 15k miles ago, the transmission has been slipping into neutral when going up steep hills. I took it to a Dodge dealership 8 months ago, and they said it passed all tests for transmission, but there is definitely something going on. The vehicle needs new tires and new front shocks, the cab heater does not work, the windshield is cracked, the left side of the rear doors has to be opened manually by flipping the latch down, the front fan cover is freely moving and must be manually opened and closed, and if it sits for more than 5 days, the battery dies. I believe this is because I have the solar and vehicle battery grounded to the chassis, but I honestly have no clue. There is no battery-to-battery charging. This issue started a year and a half after I built it out. The battery in the vehicle has a two-year warranty with Autozone starting January 2026. I spent two weeks in it in the fall of last year, moving around Joshua Tree daily, and never had any issues. You can get a replacement for free at any AutoZone using my phone number. I have a very detailed video going over each issue it has that I will send to any interested buyers. Ram dealership quoted us $14k to fix everything. Another mechanic quoted us $10.5k.
